Brain Draw: The Intuitive Process of Shattered Mind

The “Shattered Mind” collection emerged from my exploration of the Brain Draw technique. This process builds on spontaneity, intuition, and the tension between chaos and control. I begin by making random, impulsive impasto acrylic lines. I do this without planning a composition or correcting my marks. Specifically, this first stage represents an unfiltered release of thought directly onto the canvas.

The Journey from Chaos to Recognition

Once the network of lines exists, I slow down my process. I study the mess to find hidden shapes and forms. Consequently, I respond to the work emotionally rather than analytically. The painting develops through recognition as I find figures and structures within the accidents. Because I allow the subconscious to lead, the narrative arises naturally from the disorder.

Material Innovation and Texture

For my work on Shattered Mind, I introduced a significant material shift. I used water-based oil paints and diluted them until they behaved like watercolor. Additionally, the translucency of the oil flowed across the textured acrylic surface. This pushed the materials beyond their expected use. Moreover, it forced me to rethink my own intentions regarding control and texture.

A Psychological Map of Fragmentation

The combination of thick acrylic and delicate oil creates a conversation between randomness and decision. As a result, the image mirrors psychological fragmentation. It captures the sense of overload produced by digital saturation and collective fear. For instance, I leave edges unresolved and parts unfinished on purpose. I prioritize emotional accuracy over a classical “polished” finish.

The Philosophy of the Series

The Brain Draw technique follows a clear philosophy: begin with the subconscious and respond with awareness. Finally, this process allows meaning to arise from disorder. You can view more of these psychological landscapes in my Virtual Gallery or see my latest experiments on Instagram.
